Regina Sowa, friend of Brandon

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Brandon, may God bring peace to his family and friends. Brandon and I attended high school together, he was a grade ahead of me, and though we knew of each other then, we didn't officially meet until 3 weeks ago when a mutual friend, Clinton Haby, organized a mini and multi-class high school reunion at Around the Bend on Wednesday, December 23. At one point in the evening I saw him sitting by himself, and then he got up and I thought he was leaving, something compelled me to go over and talk to him, so I did, and we had a great time talking about mutual friends and just getting to know each other. A few days later we went to the Meek reunion concert and I got the pleasure of hanging out with Lindsey, his sister and best friend. It was such a fun night, he just had this good nature about him and I enjoyed spending time with him. We later had a funny episode trying to make a homemade concoction of soup for Lindsey, part of which included daring each other to eat a whole onion like an apple, which we both did, because we were trying to prove who liked onions more. Who does that? lol, it was hilarious and a moment I will never forget. We were just starting to get to know each other these past couple of weeks, little did I know our correspondence this past Monday morning would be our last. Though I only knew Brandon for a short period of time I can honestly say he made a positive impact on my life and for that I will be forever grateful. I will miss you Brandon!

Ian Thompson Friend of Brandon

To most people Golden Tee is just some video game that costs too much, and is hated by girlfriends around the world. However, GT was a 45 minute opportunity for Brandon and I (as well as more than a few friends) to discuss girls, work, and life in general. It was a way to be secluded in a room full of people, and it provided a forum in which we had the opportunity to talk open and honestly.

While by no means did Golden Tee define Brandon and I's relationship, it will be those times that I will miss the most. Those were the times when I had the opportunity to catch up on his week and what was going on with his life.

Brandon... I hope you’re up there somewhere cashing in on a -30 under. I miss you buddy!

Sarah M. Robinson Mother of Brandons two daughters

Brandon lives on in our two beautiful little girls (Maddie and Lauren). They are the most precious children ever!

Maddie has a lot of Brandon's traits. Beside the fact that they look exactly alike; she's very artistic, funny, has a heart of gold and is slightly OCD. :)

Lauren has his cheeky traits. She is very smart and ADORABLE! She'll be trouble when she's older. We’ll have to keep the boys away, no doubt.

I'm sure Brandon will be watching over them both.

Sean Emery Friend of Brandon

I used to car pool with Brandon to swim practice back in middle school. He introduced me to a lot of things, the most important of which would have to be sunflower seeds and Sir-Mix-a-Lot.

I remember sitting in the back seat of his mom's car throwing the shells outside the window. His mom would always tell us if they got stuck on the side of the car, then she wouldn't let us eat them anymore. Brandon could break them apart without the aide of his fingers, a skill I didn't learn for many more years.

When I was in 6th grade, and Brandon in 7th we were out by the busses at the end of the school for the day. Brandon sees me, and calls me over. He has a totally sweet tape player (it might have even been an even sweeter CD player - I'm not sure) and tells me to listen to a song. I put my ears to the headphones and listen to the now infamous words: "Oh my God, Becky! Look at her butt! It is so big..."

Growing up, Brandon was a year ahead of me in school, and light years ahead of me in swimming. I literally looked up to him as a brother, and constantly aspired to catch him - both in the pool and otherwise. It's a shame that his life was cut short, but I can honestly say that knowing Brandon Ehlert changed my life for the better. If he influenced other people as profoundly as he influenced me, Brandon has done more in his tragically short life than most people could possibly aspire to do in theirs.

Please pass along my condolences to his family. Thank you, Sean Emery

Brandon had one of the biggest hearts I have ever been blessed to know. I was sick with the flu not too long ago.... I was talking to him on the phone one night and he heard me coughing, I kept telling him I was fine, but of course him being the amazing guy he is, he came straight over. He made me get in the car and took me to the med clinic where we sat for hours playing rock paper scissors haha. But the best part was when he took me home he stayed and took care of me. He made me his "homemade" chicken noodle soup lol which he said his "grandma campbell" gave him the recipe for lol. Then we had a movie marathon and since I watched spaceballs for him... he watched my girly movies lol. I love him and would have the flu the rest of my life if that meant he would be here with us today. BRANDON I MISS YOU..... and I cant wait to walk those streets of gold with you one day.

Love you!-Liz Moody
